Dr Alexys Ward
Hi, my name is Alexys Ward and I am the principal dentist at The Happy Tooth. I graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and since graduating I have completed over 40 additional courses in advanced dentistry including Implant Dentistry.
I grew up on a small farm near Maitland and now live on a farm close to Cessnock. When I am not in the Dental Surgery you will find me outside in the garden or with our horses and other animals. I have practiced dentistry in both Sydney and the Hunter Valley over the past seven years. The city experience allowed me to gain experience and expertise in advanced dental techniques using the latest equipment and technology. I took all of this experience to design and build my dream practice in Cessnock, Singleton and now Muswellbrook.
The Happy Tooth Muswellbrook has been fitted out with equipment of the 21st century to give you the best possible dental care, ensuring we have all of the latest top class equipment and facilities. I want each patient to have what I would want in dental treatment – that is treatment that looks great, feels great, and lasts as long as possible. I have always adhered to the philosophy of, 'if you are going to do something, do it well and always give it your best'.
Dr Paul O'Neill,
Hi, I’m Paul O’Neill and I’m thrilled to be part of the new Happy Tooth Dental Practice in Muswellbrook that is state of the art, in all aspects of dentistry.
I graduated in dentistry from the University of Sydney and spent my early years after graduation in the RAAF at Williamtown. Later, I moved with my family to Muswellbrook to establish a dental practice, and spent several years in the area before moving to the UK to practice. I recommenced practicing in Muswellbrook on my return to Australia and have practiced here ever since.
My family have all grown up in Muswellbrook and my wife Patrice and I are fortunate to have many friends in the area. Our family interests keep us busy and those who know me are aware I enjoy motorcycling whenever the chance arises. Patrice and I always endeavoured to provide a friendly family experience in our practice and are pleased the new practice has similar ideals.
The new practice has given me the chance to work with a dedicated and professional team with a wealth of experience. We are all very approachable, enjoy our dentistry and are here to help. I look forward to offering, along with my colleagues, a caring, friendly and professional service for all of our patients.

Hi, I’m Daehoon, I obtained a Bachelor of Dental Science degree at the University of Melbourne in 2009. I have been practicing dentistry in both the public and private sector, providing variety of dental treatments in the areas of restorative, periodontic, removable and fixed prosthodontic, endodontic, pediatric and exodontia. I am currently pursuing an academic path with main focus on implant dentistry.
My Korean background together with having lived in Australia for most of my life has helped me with the ability to practice dentistry in a culturally competent manner. I can also speak both English and Korean. My wife and I have recently moved from Melbourne to Scone and we really enjoying country life. On my days off I enjoy fishing with my wife (who is a much better angler) and one day hope to have my own farm.
Dr Richard Zhou
Hi, my name is Richard, and I am one of the happy dentists here at The Happy Tooth. I graduated with a Bachelor of Dentistry from the University of Sydney, as well as previously graduating with a degree of physiotherapy. Whether it be for pain relief or more complex restorative procedures, a visit to the dentist should not be dreaded.
I have always enjoyed working with people and pride myself in helping patients feel relaxed and comfortable with my gently chair side mannerisms. I enjoy all facets of dentistry, and look forward to helping you create that beautiful and healthy smile. Outside of dentistry I enjoy exercising and staying active. I also love to eat (probably more than I should!) Lucky there is no shortage of either here in the Hunter.
I look forward to meeting you all soon.
