Dr Alexys Ward
Hi, my name is Alexys Ward and I am the principal dentist at The Happy Tooth. I graduated from Sydney University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and since graduating I have completed over 40 additional courses in advanced dentistry including Implant Dentistry.
I grew up on a small farm near Maitland and now live on a farm close to Cessnock. When I am not in the Dental Surgery you will find me outside in the garden or with our horses and other animals. I have practiced dentistry in both Sydney and the Hunter Valley over the past seven years. The city experience allowed me to gain experience and expertise in advanced dental techniques using the latest equipment and technology. I took all of this experience to design and build my dream practice in Cessnock, Singleton and now Muswellbrook.
The Happy Tooth Muswellbrook has been fitted out with equipment of the 21st century to give you the best possible dental care, ensuring we have all of the latest top class equipment and facilities. I want each patient to have what I would want in dental treatment – that is treatment that looks great, feels great, and lasts as long as possible. I have always adhered to the philosophy of, 'if you are going to do something, do it well and always give it your best'.

Dr Anastasia Chapple-Harris,
Hi, I am part of The Happy Tooth ownership team of oral health professionals and am a dentist at The Happy Tooth Muswellbrook.
Originally a Queenslander, I completed my dentistry studies in Orange (Charles Sturt University). I previously obtained a Bachelor of Science (Biomedicine) from the University of Queensland. I have now been in Regional New South Wales for close a decade and have fallen in love with it, particularly the Hunter Valley which is now my home.
The Happy Tooth clinics have set out to provide state of the art oral health services to the Hunter Valley and is committed to providing its patients with the best available oral health technology, up-to-date equipment, trained staff and interesting premises. I am proud to be a part of the Happy Tooth team and look forward to meeting you and your family.
Outside of dentistry, I enjoy spending time with family (my own and The Happy Tooth), friends, good food and wine. I also enjoy stand-up comedy and relaxing with yoga.
Jon Pride, Dental Prosthetics
Hi! my name is Jon and I graduated from Randwick Tafe with and Associate Diploma in Dental Technology in 1999. After 2 years of gaining experience throughout a diverse range of cases in the field of dental technology, I furthered my studies as a dental technician by upgrading my qualifications to a Diploma in Dental Technology. In 2004 I pursued my passion further by undertaking an Advanced Diploma in Dental prosthesis, graduating in July 2006 as a registered Dental Prosthetist. In doing so I also received the ‘Phil Harris Award’ for the best student overall. My studies continue today constantly gaining knowledge in the field of dentures and more recently implant retained dentures. In 2009 I was involved in the education of Dental Prosthetics at Randwick Tafe as the assistant teacher for implant retained dentures.
I have been working in Sydney throughout my career and am thoroughly enjoying escaping the city to work within the beautiful surroundings of the Hunter Valley, especially due to the abundance of golf courses, vineyards and exciting motorcycle rides at my fingertips.
Dr Day Hui
Graduated with an undergraduate Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and his Masters in Dentistry at Griffith University. Day joined The Happy Tooth Muswellbrook team in 2022.
Dr Patrice Curtin - Dentist
Hi, my name is Patrice, and I am one of the dentists at The Happy Tooth Muswellbrook.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from University College Cork, Ireland.
I worked in a country practice in Ireland before moving to Australia in October 2022.
I spent time in Sydney and Tasmania before moving up to Muswellbrook.
I am really enjoying exploring the Hunter Valley area.
I have always enjoyed working with people and try to ensure patients feel comfortable and at ease in the Dental Chair. It is always great to see a patient leave with a smile on their face!
Outside of dentistry i enjoy going to the gym, reading and swimming. I have also joined the Muswellbrook Rams ladies league tag team to meet new people and keep fit.
I look forward to seeing you when you come into The Happy Tooth.
Dr Lucy Sun
Hi, my name is Lucy and I am one of the dentists at the Happy Tooth Muswellbrook. I graduated with an undergraduate degree of Pharmacy and a postgraduate degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine both from the University of Sydney. I came out of Sydney and joined the Happy Tooth family in 2018. Prior to this I have never thought of leaving Sydney, but after settling in this lovely family environment and providing dental care to people in the Upper Hunter, I think I may not ever be heading back.
I love helping my patients in understanding the importance of good oral hygiene for preventing most of the dental diseases right from the beginning as I pursue the concept of ‘prevention over treatment’. When it comes to treatment, I feel most rewarded when patients tell me that what I have provided to them was pain-free. I hope my gentle and caring manner will make your dental visit a calm and relaxed experience.
Outside of work I enjoy light exercise as well as relaxing at home with my cat Bailey who I adopted in Muswellbrook. And I look forward to establishing my own home in the Hunter Valley one day.
Dr Juhi Krishnaswamy
Hi there!, My name is Juhi and I’m one of the dentists here. I think I smile and laugh more than the average person - my life’s motto is good things happen to happy people.
I’m originally from Sydney but I relocated to Melbourne for 7 years to study biomedicine and dentistry at the University of Melbourne.
I’m new to Muswellbrook and so far, it’s been an absolute adventure.

John Belfield Dental Prosthetist
John joined The Happy Tooth in January 2023 after owning his own denture clinic in Muswellbrook for many years.
We’d like to welcome John Belfield to our Happy Tooth family.
John will be at the Muswellbrook surgery Mondays and Scone surgery Wednesdays to assist you with all your denture needs.
